INTENSIVES

Intensives or masterclasses are focused sessions designed to improve one style, skill, or to give athletes the tools to improve in the future. We might do this by working through drills, learning a combo or through lecture.

Some of the most common requests for intensives are style specific (pom, jazz, lyrical etc.), turns (pirouettes and a la secondes), jazz technique and performance training.

Maddie has worked with us since the formation of Scottish Student Cheer and has been an integral part of our development. Her knowledge of this sport is one of the best in the country and her commitment and dedication to the growth of the sport and each athlete is second to none. As a judge, as a choreographer or as a consultant, SSC cannot recommend Maddie enough.

FAQ's

1. How long are intensives?

Intensives vary from two to four hours long.

2. What age groups do you work with?

Any and all! I've taught intensives for tiny teams all the way up to university teams.

3. Can we stay and watch class?

Of course! I have no problem with coaches and/or parents watching class.

4. Can we video for our social media?

Yes.

5. Can we use the intensive combo in one of our performances?

As intensive combos are for training purposes and are therefore usually not visual enough for competition performances. While I wouldn't advise using them for competitions, you can certainly use them for recitals, fundraisers or other performances! Please note that as the choreography is not custom, I reserve the right to teach my intensive choreography multiple times.
