ChoreographY

Since 2011, I've been choreographing for dance teams in jazz, lyrical, pom and kick. My routines have been performed everywhere from international competition floors to Christmas light switch-ons.

They've won numerous national titles in solo, duo and team divisions, as well as choreography awards. They are always fully customised, not just to the dancers in them, but to the specifications given by the program director.

Such an energetic routine from start to finish, full of pom content displaying levels and cannons effectively. Musicality was excellent. Great job with difficulty with skills that complimented the choreo and perfectly showcased the athlete's ability level.

FAQ's

1. How long does it take?

It depends on your team, their age group and the length of your routine. As a guide, a 2.15 competitive senior routine can be taught in 10 hours. Usually teams choose to do this over the course of a few choreography days.  Younger competitive teams tend to thrive with shorter sessions. Recreational or general performance routines can take considerably less time than this. Send me a message with your circumstances, and I'll be sure to give you my best time estimate.

2. Can you help us choose a song?

Sure! Just let me know if you have any thoughts regarding costuming, numbers, vibe or style and I'll try to pull some options for you.

3. Can you organise music?

Certainly. I work with a few awesome suppliers year after year and would be more than happy to help you find music you love.

4. Can we choreograph with you?

Yes. Whether you want to co-choreograph the full routine or hand over a few sections, it'd be great to work with you.

5. Would you rather have a big team, or a small team?

It's entirely up to you and what you decide would be best for your programme.

6. What age groups do you work with?

Most of the choreography I set is for youth, junior or senior age groups.

7. Why do you need to know what competitions we'll be going to?

It's really important to me to be able to fully support the programmes I work with. For that reason, I limit the number of routines which I work on in each division and try to limit the number of times they compete against each other. I also have to make sure that I don't have conflicts of interest when working in a judging capacity. Lastly, I'd love to come along and support!

8. How involved will you be? Will you come to warm up?

I can be as involved as you'd like me to be. Some programmes only want choreography, some want year-round support both on and off the mat. I'm happy to do either!
